Today's outfit is
'How a clown dresses on his day off'
At the moment i am obsessed with carnivals.
1930's, between the wars, travelling shows
through central Europe.
Clowns scare me, but if you are a good clown you must be
one in your heart and soul.
Clowns must also be sad, don't you think.
Everything is opposites.
I wish i met a real clown, back in the days before mass travel
and technology.
My suit from a shop in London .
Colourful balls from Thailand when i was there about 20 years ago.
It took me that long for find the outfit for them.
The box is amazing made of tin and showing the
marks of time.
I love the box as much as the hat.
This lady spent 2 hours with me in the shop on Friday.
She got a lovely dress.
but not this one.
Silly girl.
Visitor from across the sea. My first customer on Friday.
Bernie bringing in more of her designs
Sara my helper on Friday.
I got a lovely real letter
from someone in the isle of man.
It made my day.

It would have been something to meet a clown in those days. :) I've often thought about the sad thing myself; you're absolutely right.
The hat and hat box are truly magnificent! The suit is wonderful, and the colorful balls are so much fun! Love it.
p.s. I can't believe she didn't buy the dress. What a beautiful frock! :D

A clown on her day off needs snail mail to perk her up. Seeing you in that amazing suit and Thai necklace has my head in a spin!!!!!! And oh the hat with its own darling tin box! I want a circus caravan I can paint wonderful swirls of colours ... you can share if you don't snore and I'll make the tea:). xoxoxooxoxo
I love your colourful pompoms and pinstriped trouser suit, you look incredible.
I love old photographs of circus folk, it must have been such a fantastic lifestyle back in the old days. xxx
I wish I had this much stuff finding vintage stuff. Great inspiration. Thanks for posting and feel free to drop by me too when you have time.
What great views from your shop, Lucy. Thanks so much for letting us peek in, and for linking up to Visible Monday.
What I would do for those colourful balls around your throat! But then, I wouldn't be able to wear them like you do in this absolutely perfect pairing. The backdrop is also perfect. And the hat box, I can't believe it - metal too...
Wouldn't I love to drop by your shop. You are awesome!
Ah, the suit is marvelous! I love this concept of dressing as an off-duty clown. Indeed the best comics are the saddest. xo! -Bella Q

What an amazing sharp suit, but the Thai balls make the outfit! That sounds a little odd, but you know what I mean... And the hat, in its metal box, how fabulous is that?
